About Gabriel

Gabriel is a Managing Director at FGO Finance Group, bringing a perspective shaped by almost a decade across New York and Silicon Valley - and a career that has touched every side of the lending table.

Earlier in his career, Gabriel was a consultant where he worked inside Australian and US financial institutions. Part of that time was spent embedded within business banking centres at one of Australia's largest banks - sitting alongside senior business bankers, mapping the end-to-end loan process, identifying where deals slowed down, and helping redesign workflows to improve how lending decisions were made. It was an unusually hands-on education in the mechanics of credit. In the US, he worked with some of the largest insurers and banks to redesign their operating workflows.

Before joining FGO, Gabriel served as General Manager of Uber's US and Canada Financial Services business. As GM, he ran the P&L and managed the business in close partnership with product, engineering, and business development teams. Under that remit, the team built and scaled a range of financial products for Uber's platform - lending for hundreds of thousands of restaurants, card issuing, instant cashouts for drivers, gifting and gift cards, and cross-border money movement. It was high-stakes product work at significant scale, with real commercial accountability.

What connects those chapters is lending. First learning how it works as a consultant inside the banks. Then managing it as a product and business at Uber. Now, at FGO, coordinating it from the other side - between lenders and the businesses and individuals who need capital. That arc gives Gabriel a fluency with how credit decisions are actually made, and what it takes to structure a deal that gets across the line.

Gabriel is particularly passionate about the growing ETA and search fund ecosystem in Australia. Having seen first-hand how search funds and acquisition entrepreneurship transformed business ownership in the US, he's actively involved in supporting Australia's ETA community - connecting acquirers with the right financing, advising on deal structures, and helping first-time buyers navigate the complexities of acquisition finance.
